“Thank you again for bringing me with you. I never realized how breathtakingly beautiful Mount Coronet was,” Diantha said, her voice filled with awe as she settled onto the wooden bench that overlooked the lower mountain range, the frosty air tinged with the scent of pine and earth, yet fresh with snow.

“Of course,” Cynthia replied warmly, placing two steaming mugs of fragrant tea—swirling with hints of mint and eucalyptus—on the bench between them before joining Diantha. She couldn’t help but smile as she admired her companion’s wide eyes, reflecting the magnificence of the snow-draped peaks framed against the twilight sky. “But it’s not like you haven’t seen the mountains before,” she pointed out teasingly, raising an eyebrow.

“Sure,” Diantha retorted, her gaze fixed firmly on the breathtaking vista, where the snow glistened like diamonds under the fading sun. “But they are nothing like this.”

Cynthia hummed lightly in acknowledgment, pausing as she noticed her friend tugging her sweater tighter around her out of the corner of her eye. The frigid chill of the mountain air nipped at her skin. “Here, take my coat,” she offered, her voice gentle.

“No, you need it. It’s far too cold to go without one,” Diantha protested, reaching out to stop Cynthia as she started to remove her navy winter coat.

“Dia, I’m used to this kind of weather,” Cynthia assured her, lightly moving Diantha’s gloved hand aside and wrapping the coat around her shoulders. “Besides, you won’t want to miss what’s coming.”

“Come on, you still haven’t told me what this is,” Diantha pouted playfully, though her eyes sparkled with curiosity and anticipation.

“It’s just a few more minutes,” Cynthia replied, glancing at her wristwatch under her glove, the metal cool against her skin. The mountain range was cold all year, but the winters could be fierce. The sky was darkening, casting a shroud of stars above them. She felt the cold creeping in now that she had shed her coat, but the thrill of the impending display warmed her soul. Lifting her steaming mug to her lips, she savored the comforting aroma and took a large sip, letting the warmth infuse her.

Then, without warning, the sky erupted into a stunning array of vibrant greens and soft blues. Wisps of ethereal light danced across the heavens, their colors spilling down like liquid emeralds over the snow-covered landscape, illuminating the mountains in a magical glow. This was the moment they had been eagerly awaiting—the northern lights.

Diantha gasped, her breath hitching in her throat as she absorbed the breathtaking spectacle unfolding before her. “Amazing…” she breathed, her eyes wide and entranced, captivated by the ballet overhead.

Cynthia’s heart swelled with joy; she knew deep down she had made the right decision in bringing Diantha to the secluded cabin. It had been her sanctuary, and she vowed to thank Candice later for allowing her to borrow it.

For several long, serene minutes, they sat in spellbound silence, side by side, each lost in the beauty of nature and the moment, until Cynthia felt the urge to break the stillness. “It’s you,” she whispered softly, her voice barely a murmur against the backdrop of the shimmering display, her gaze shifting to Diantha. “It’s always been you.”

Diantha’s expression morphed into one of confusion, brows knitting together as she replied, “Pardon?”

“I can’t pretend anymore,” Cynthia confessed, her heart racing as she reached out, grasping Diantha’s hands in her own, urging her closer. “I love you.” With those words, Cynthia’s heart thundered in her chest, the weight of vulnerability crashing over her. She hadn’t planned to say it; the confession had flown from her lips unbidden, yet now that it was out, she felt the gravity of the moment.

As she averted her gaze, a wave of uncertainty wrapped around her heart, and Cynthia caught a fleeting glimpse of Diantha’s expression transformation, shifting from surprise to something deeper. “I love you too,” Diantha finally breathed, the words spilling from her lips like a long-buried secret, igniting a flicker of hope within Cynthia’s soul that had been dormant for far too long.

With a tentative movement, Diantha reached forward, her fingers trembling slightly as they brushed against Cynthia’s bangs, the touch as light and tender as a whisper. She bit the inside of her cheek, fighting against the anxious flutter in her stomach, her heart racing at the weight of the moment. Cynthia still hadn’t met her gaze, and a swell of determination surged within Diantha. Resolute, she closed the distance that had felt like an eternity between them.

As Diantha leaned in, the frigid air vibrated with tension, mingling their breaths into soft, white puffs that danced in the chilled night. She pressed her lips against Cynthia’s, a gentle caress that felt electric, eyes fluttering shut as if sealing off the world outside.

The sensation was nothing short of euphoric; the numbness that had settled in her limbs was now transformed, coursing with intoxicating emotions rather than the icy fingers of winter. Time seemed to dissolve around them, the vibrant light display that had once captivated them now fading gently, allowing the serene embrace of starlight to reclaim the night sky, casting a magical glow over the two of them.

As they slowly pulled away, their foreheads resting against each other, Diantha intertwined her fingers with Cynthia’s, their eyes locked in a shared moment of warmth and understanding. “Let’s go inside and get warm,” Diantha suggested her voice a soothing whisper that filled the space between them. A smile blossomed on her lips as Cynthia nodded in agreement, her eyes shimmering with newfound brightness. At that moment, everything felt right, as if the universe had finally aligned, anchoring them in a shared reality where they belonged together.

Okay, Cynthia and Iris sound adorable- Cynthia seems like a great role model for her. And Cynthia keeping an eye on N sounds interesting, too. And Geeta… lol, I can see that happening.

What does Cynthia think of the other champions?

Lance: Cynthia and Lance are childhood rivals. She enjoys making digs and irritating him, but it's in good humor for the most part. Watching the two of them compete can be quite something. That being said, Lance has never beaten her in a pokémon battle.

Steven: Steven was the only reason Cynthia and Lance didn't tear each other apart for a long time. She sometimes enjoys treating him like a child for fun. She sees him like a little brother.

Wallace: Cynthia and Wallace get along well enough. She thinks he's eccentric, but they can still enjoy each other's company. Their milotics are friends, so that also helps.

Alder: Alder sees most of the other champions like his nieces/nephews and looks out for them. Cynthia isn't as close to him as Steven and Lance are, but she'll occasionally look to him for guidance (or for a battle)

Iris: Cynthia knows that Iris really looks up to her, and it does things for her ego that she might not need. She always tries to be at the top of her game when Iris is around so she can be her role model.

N: Cynthia thinks N is interesting. He reminds her a bit of Cyrus, but she thinks he's much kinder. While they never get too close (Reshiram and Giratina HATE each other), she keeps an eye on him, just in case he starts showing signs of following the same path.

Diantha: Cynthia and Diantha are close friends. While they do have a romantic interest in each other, they both decided that dating while being champions of different regions would not be a great idea. If one of them were to retire, though...

Leon: Cynthia isn't a huge fan of Leon. She doesn't like how loud or showboaty he is, so she never bothered to get too close to him. However, she still respects his strength as a trainer, and how he's able to maintain an image as a national icon.

Geeta: Cynthia thought she would enjoy the company of another sapphic champion. This was not the case. Cynthia is put off by how aloof Geeta is, and can never seem to get her to open up. Cynthia still isn't entirely convinced that she isn't a robot.

Ok, so do think that you can do relationship hcs for Cynthia, Lusamine, Diantha from Pokemon?

The fact that a Pokemon request of all things took so damn long is baffling but whatever. Minimalistic post since I don't have banners for Pokemon and I don't feel like going through Tumblr gifs to find a decent one for everyone.

God this took way too long. Writer's block struck at the worst possible time.

Cynthia

-Cynthia's occupation as champion keeps her quite busy. Neither of you particularly enjoy this but that's just how the cookie crumbles as they say.

-Despite that, she's surprisingly good at separating work from her personal life. When the League's finding itself in a slow season and new trainers aren't running amok around Sinnoh she'll always manage to find time for you.

-She's extremely supportive of whatever you do and will be there all the way. Wanna be a trainer too? Congratulations, you have a world class mentor. Wanna be an archeologist, she will nerd out about ancient mythology with you all you want and join you on your excavations. Anything you wanna do, Pokemon-related or not, has her full support.

-Between her mythological studies on the side with her work and training as champion, there are moments she overworks herself. You'll need to play the role of caretaker and bring her back down to Earth.

-Of course despite this, it doesn't stop her from doing the same for you when necessary. Gently pushing you to go to sleep, preparing a fresh cup of your favorite warm drink, or knocking you out with a bat hugging you from behind to relax you.

-Her Pokemon quickly form an attachment to you, they see her family as theirs, too. Seeing her terrifying, nightmare inducing Garchomp acting like a big puppy will never get old.

-If you have a team of their own, they get quite protective, especially the unevolved, inexperienced ones. At least until you end up catching up to them, which they eventually will under their tutelage.

Lusamine

-Realistically, you really only get close enough to be in a relationship if you start as an employee at the Aether Foundation. Your hard-working attitude and sincere kindness towards the Pokemon they take care of quickly grabs her attention. Something about you just stood out even among the similar employees working under her.

-The relationship instantly is declared to be a secret, she still needs to keep a professional appearance at work. In private though is a different story.

-Once you do manage to win Lusamine's heart, she's extremely attached and clingy. Considering how her last relationship ended, she will not let you go. And you can bet that you're not touching anything involving Ultra Wormholes with a 40 foot pole.

-Very physically clingy all around despite what your first impressions of her might have been. It's a pleasant surprise when she finally drops the professional facade around you and craves gentle intimacy.

-It's only natural that Lillie and Gladion quickly become a big part of your life considering how big of a part they are in Lusamine's. Being there for them is a requirement in your relationship.

-It takes a while for them to warm up to you, but they do eventually. Lillie's much more open about it, happy to have a second parent in her life again. Gladion does try to keep up the edgy persona, but he does become fond of you, albeit shown very subtly.

-It's a very surprisingly domestic relationship after the whole Ultra Space incident. A very happy family picture with Lillie and Gladion around.

Diantha.

-Much like the last two ladies, very busy. Being a champion and a movie star means she's not exactly swimming in free time. Whenever you two do get to go out together, disguises are needed thanks to her fame.

-Dating Diantha means your fashion sense sees a noticeable improvement. Mostly to have effective disguises so you can go out in public without being hounded by paparazzi. It's actually quite pleasant when it works.

-You learn to spot her out in public regardless of what she's wearing as she beckons you over to a nice cafe or restaurant she wants to try with you. Kalos is known for it's exquisite fine dining, whatever gets her approval is bound to be the good stuff.

-The public is inevitably soon going to find out you're dating THE Diantha. You're gonna become a bit of a celebrity yourself whether you like it or not. If you're pursuing anything to do for a living, you're at the very least gonna get eyes on it, fortunately. You two immediately become Kalos' power couple.

-If you have a Pokemon capable of Mega Evolution, Diantha will be your number one fan and mentor in helping you achieve that power. She's about the best you could ask for in this regard, her ace is a Psychic type that she Mega Evolves, after all.

-Despite all the glamor and lights, she does crave something of a domestic life. She very much appreciates a more traditional partner there for the long run who wants the same thing. To her, buying a house and settling down is her ultimate goal, and showing you want the same makes you two pretty much set for life.

Sometimes I hate being such a big nerd because I'm literally spending my Saturday night pitting Pokémon champion teams against each other to see who would win and actually be the strongest champion. Now, the personal rules for this are: 1. No legendaries (This rule is solely for N because he would sweep. I replaced his dragon with Sigilyph. Also N is going to be considered the Gen 5 champion because I forgot about Alder while making this. He wouldn't have won anyway because half of his team is Bug.) 2. No held items, this is solely based on movesets, abilities, stats and the pokemon. 3. If the Champion's team has a member that depends on what starter the player picked, it will be the team that gives them the most coverage overall (Ex. Leon's team has Rillaboom in it due to giving him the most coverage) 4. NO GIMMICKS!!! No Z-Moves, Mega Evolutions, or Dynamaxing. 5. Kukui is the who I'm considering the Gen 7 "Champion" (Since his team also depends on starter choice, he will have Primarina since that gives him the most coverage.) and Steven Stone is who I'm considering to be the Gen 3 Champion. 6. Red and Blue will also be considered for the Champions because I think Gen-Wunners will end me if I didn't add them to my calculations 7. They will all be using their final main-line story teams with minor tweaks to make them balanced. I can't really think of any other things than that. So here's the in-depth analysis basically: Literally all of them with only TWO exceptions have team compositions that leave at LEAST half of their team weak to Ice Types. ESPECIALLY LANCE GOOD LORD ALL OF HIS POKEMON ARE WEAK TO ICE! Those two exceptions, are of course, the only two champions WITH Ice Types on their teams. That being Professor Kukui and N. So is that it? It's just a Professor Kukui vs N fight? WRONG! Because both N and Kukui's teams both have extremely big weaknesses against Fighting type Pokemon. Which, considering Cynthia has Lucario, does in fact cause problems. Also, Diantha's Hawlucha might cause problems- I'm just kidding that thing is 4x weak to Ice, it's getting decimated instantly. Looking at overall movesets and Pokemon, it is a REALLY close neck and neck battle between Cynthia, N, and Kukui as they have the most balanced teams. So, out of those three, who's winning? Well, breaking it down in terms of technicality and imagining if they were all fighting at the same time, the answer is kind of surprising. Cynthia and Kukui have a huge difficulty with each other's teams. As Kukui's Alolan Ninetails sweeps through a lot of Cynthia's team, including her ace, Garchomp. But Cynthia's Lucario also causes major problems with half of Kukui's team (Specifically Snorlax, Magnezone, and Lycanroc). N is actually in the worst position, having not only a big weakness to FIghting, but also Rock and Fire. Fire isn't as much as a concern due to Kukui having no Pokemon with Fire Type moves (if he had Incineroar he would actually be worse off due to Cynthia's Lucario) and Cynthia's only Fire move being Flamethrower on Garchomp, which N can counter with Vanilluxe. In terms of Rock, Kukui has Lycanrock, which is the only pokemon he has that is Rock Type and has Rock Type moves. Meanwhile Cynthia only has one Rock Type move, which is Stone Edge on Lucario, which actually helps countering N's Sigilyph, which would actually hard counter Lucario if it didn't have Stone Edge. But, what's crazy is that N has an even BETTER counter for Cynthia's Lucario, which is actually WEAK to Lucario. His Zoroark.

Unironically, N's Zoroark SAVES him due to having not only Flamethrower, but also Focus Blast, two moves that Lucario is weak to. On top of that, the only fighting move that Cynthia even HAS is Focus Blast on Lucario, which is a Special move and while Zoroark's defenses are nothing to brag about, it actually OUTSPEEDS Lucario! So N would actually end up breaking the stalemate between Kukui and Cynthia. N, overall, actually perfectly counters Cynthia's team solely because of his teams diverse moveset and stats! And here's the crazier part. Despite N's rock weakness, which Kukui has coverage for with Lycanrock, N also utterly destroys Kukui because of a SINGULAR Pokémon.

Carracosta crushes Kukui's Lycanrock due to Kukui not having any coverage moves on his Lycanrock, because Kukui's Lycanrock has nothing but Rock Type moves! And after that, Kukui has NO coverage whatsoever against N's entire team because the only other thing he's weak to is Fighting, which Kukui has NO fighting moves in his entire party! And N actually has a counter for every other Pokemon Kukui has on his team. Ninetails is beaten by Carracosta AND Klinklang. His Braviary is done in by Vanilluxe, Klinklang, and Archeops. His Magnezone and Snorlax are beaten by Zoroark. and that Primarina is defeated due to, you guessed it, Klinklang. Overall, N takes the crown as the "Strongest Champion" but don't forget that Ghetsis' team was made to counter N's, so he's not the strongest overall. In rankings it ends up like this. 9th: Lance 8th: Diantha 7th: Geeta 6th: Steven 5th: Leon 4th: Blue 3rd: Red 2nd Place: Kukui AND Cynthia (Seriously these two are like perfect foils) 1st Place: N. TLDR: N wins due to his team's diverse move pool and team composition. Thank you for reading all of this. I hope you somewhat enjoyed this.
